Blood Magic

"My dear Efin,
I hope our late Count Sunderwin treats you better than the last pitiful resemblance of a lord you were working for.
West Rihamwi is not as bad as everyone claims, especially if you ignore the piss they call wine in this place.
Since the whole realm is apparently governed by a bunch of idiots who thought it a good idea to punish scholars of the noble art of Necromancy with the stakes, what else was I to do? The research must go on and several of our old friends found their way to the town I am in.
I cannot disclose the exact location, as you would understand my dear Efin, security measures and such.
We came to some interesting results when combining Necromancy with the Third Rite from the Tome of Blood-magic. Admittedly, the scarification and preparations for the ritual are not for the faint-hearted, but the results are quite astounding - keeping in mind we used merely some sickly peasants. I cannot imagine the results we will achieve when using quality blood, some nobles or even elven.
There was a local agitation where some village dullards decided to oppose our experiments, which caused a disturbance in our plan and had to be taken care of.
But how would you explain the importance of what we are doing to a halfwit anyways?
Of course, innocents had to die, but isn't the pursue of knowledge worth the sacrifice of some poor peasants? Isn't the gain of quintessential wisdom the ultimate goal in our line of work?
As sisters and brothers, we must stick together. With time even the opposing parties won't be able to ignore the power and benefits of our work.

Hope to welcome you someday in Rihamwi. I have some nice bottles of Arabathi's finest vintage that are waiting to be shared with you, courtesy of our local Chief, who found a way to smuggle them into this country.

PS.: I attached a little gift you might find interesting.
PPS.: Let's hope this new messenger is less of a moron than the last one, whose remains were scattered around half a village after opening the tome he was supposed to deliver.

Sincerely
Your Dedra"
